If you have seen a phrase or word used on the Smarter Webdesign website and you are unsure of what it means then you can look it up here to find a simple explanation to help you understand the different between a database and a vector.

A

Accessibility - Accessibility is the ease of use of a website for people with disabilities such as a person with sight problems, colour blind people or people with hearing problems.

Blog - Blog is short for Web Log. This is a website where people log their activities / goings on to share with the rest of the internet.

Font - A font is the way writing looks in size, style or weight.

P

Pixel - A pixel is a tiny dot on a computer monitor. The resolution of a monitor is measured on how many dots there are per inch of your screen.

Search Engine Optimisation - Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) is a technique that is used to make a website more understandable to Search Engines like Google. With SEO work done a website you will see a site rank higher in Search Engine listings for the chosen key words.

V

Vector - A vector image looks to the eye like an ordinary image but it is made up of shapes rather than pixels. This means no matter what size you make it, it will not lose any quality or become distorted.
